I'm Back!!!

In all honesty I have not been meaning to neglect this blog. I completely forgot about it for a while. Sorry about that. Let me update you.

Easter came and went in a flash. It was a good Easter though. I loved being able to hear the words of the Prophet and the other leaders of the church about Christ on Easter Sunday. It was perfect. We had bluebonnet pictures taken. I had to wear my new Cinderella outfit. I know I am an adult, but what fun is being an adult if you stop believing in having a little magic in your life. Also, I am still waiting for my happily ever after, so I see nothing wrong with my choice of outfit. We took Vivien since it is her first time seeing bluebonnets. She would not stop eating them. We got one kind of good picture though.
Ry Guy got his Eagle Scout!! A ton of planning and preparation went into the Court of Honor for it, but mom and I pulled it off. Two sheetcakes (made by me), water with strawberries on top and blueberries underneath so it was red, white, and blue, and an awesome ceremony complete with a picture slideshow that I put together for him. He did it! Congrats, wittle brudder!
I am 21! Not that it really makes any difference, but it is exciting. I am hoping to get endowed at the beginning of June in the San Antonio temple. When I turned 21 it really sunk in that I am only 21 and I feel like I have accomplished a lot. I mean, I am graduated. I am working on my application to grad school, I have a real job that I love, and I have a plan. Now, my plans have never really worked out before, but it is worth a shot. I decided on ASU for grad school. I want to get my Master's in Family and Human Development and get certified as a Child Life Specialist. Woot woot.
I have had a ton of fun lately. Mom and I got to go to Sixflags. I rode on rides I never would before. I mean, some of those are terrifying. I went on the Titan. I remember when it first opened. I was at the park with my mom and Aunt Diana. We waited in line, but I chickened out at the last minute. I cried while they rode because I thought they were going to die. Yeah I rode that. I also rode on Mr. Freeze. That was scary. I rode it once.... That's all I need, right? On every ride I would scream which would make mom burst out laughing. A little while later I would hear her say, "Now my mouth is all dried out!" Then, I laughed. We also did the Red Balloon Run and Ride 5K for the hospital we work at. That's always a blast. We went to College Station for two of my friends' ring dunks. I don't know why A&M made it a tradition to put class rings in the bottom of pitcher's of beer and then have people chug them to get the ring, but they did. Ew. My friends don't drink so they did lemonade and non-sweet tea. The one who actually chugged still threw up like everyone else. Just gross. I'm glad BYU mailed me mine. Thank you, BYU, for having traditions like sliding down a hill covered in blue foam and hiking to the Y on the mountain.
Becca comes back from Mexico in 8 days, but since it is so late I'm going to say a week!!! Becca will be home! I have missed her. At the end of June we get to go to Washington to see my Aunt Diana and her family. She has one kiddo getting baptized and a baby getting blessed. I am just so excited to meet her little 2 year old who is a little "imp" as they call her. When Diana asks what she is doing she says, "I be naughty" and keeps on going. Or if Diana asks if she wants to make the good choice or the bad choice she replies, "I make bad choice!" She is just too cute. I am also hoping I get to see Julie Anne while I am there. That would be perfect. The weekend after we get back I get to head up to Utah for a couple of days to see Jan Jan get married!!! And I get to stay with Meghan for one last time because in August I will be going back up to Utah to see her get married! I am so excited for my friends!!!

Also, did I mention how much I love my job?! I get to help kids cope while they are in the hospital. I have had sword fights and tea parties, I have been hit in the face with a bright green popsicle, I get to do arts and crafts, and I just get to have fun. I loved one day when a little girl lit up when she saw me walking down the hallway and yelled, "Miss Megan is back!!!" How can that not make your heart smile!?!

I think that gets us all caught up! I will have to post pictures of my adventures as they come because they are coming!

Too Much Fun

People say there is no such thing as having too much fun. I beg to differ. I do not know if it was too much fun or too much excitement. I think both. I had it. After a late girls' night last night, I got up slowly this morning. Until the adrenaline kicked in, I was beat. I got to the BYUSA office by eight to get things started for the retreat. The first thing Eric told me when he first saw me was that I looked half dead. Well thanks for that. By nine everyone had arrived and so did the adrenaline. I saw my mini van. That was enough to get me going. After telling the group that was with me about my deep love/obsession for minivans, one of the girls looked at me driving and said, "You look so cute and perfect up there!" Here is me wanting to cry because I was so happy. :) It felt so natural to be behind the wheel of a mini van. Have I told you I want one? We played a name game where we said our name and something we would bring to a picnic. My name is Megan, and I would bring a mini van. When we got there, we started off with laser tag. I am just not good at laser tag. I always have fun, but I don't score well. Nbd. Then came the go-karts. Eric bet me the other day that I would not be able to beat him. I get really competitive on go-karts. Like no joke. He jumped in the first one and I was in the fourth one back. Bring it on. I passed the first two people in front of me, and then it was just him and me. I won. He owes me. Then came the bumper boats. Somehow I ended up in his boat. I do not know how, but I got soaked because everyone was ganging up on us. I will say, I put my hand in front of the water gun, and I aimed it to squirt him. I win again. After that we got free time to go to the arcade. Angela Lopez and I went on all of the racing games whether it was motorcyles or cars. Then we went on a weird two person ride that was so much fun! We screamed the whole time. In the last bit of free time we went to two 4D short movies. Lunch was next on the schedule. You know those stupid commercials where the windows are so clean the birds or dogs or whatever run into them? It happens in real life. I slammed into a window today with about a third of my team there to witness it. I thought it was a door. I hit it and hit it hard. Probably one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. Over the course of the retreat, there were plenty of pictures taken. I love looking back at them and just laughing. After we left, we went to a park to play a couple more games. When we finally got back and returned my mini van (after I took a couple pictures with it of course), it was around five. Then, I went to see a scary movie with Becca. The movie was not all that great, but it was really funny when Becca screamed twice in the theater. So great. Then, we went to a place called The Chocolate for a dessert. We got something called a cazookie. It is half chocolate chip cookie and half white chocolate macadamia nut cookie topped with vanilla icecream. Yum. After today, I can truthfully say if I died tomorrow I would die happy. Mini vans, a new embarrassing story to tell, beating Eric in go-karts, and a cazookie. What more could you ask for?

Adrenaline Rush

Summer classes ended. I got As in both of my classes. I say that is pretty good for spending so much time with friends, in the BYUSA office, and at Seven Peaks. It was a great semester. The only problem was when it ended, I did not know what to do with myself... for a while. Then, I realized I still had packing to do, I still have friends, and there are so many fun things I want to do before school starts back up. Monday, I went to an amusement park called Lagoon with Dani, Emilee, and Meghan. We had a blast, and we were there for most of the day. This was my favorite ride. We went on it four times.
There was something about it... We were all laughing and talking before it started. When it starts, it is FAST. We all burst out in screams. You go up that huge hill first. At the top, you pause for a minute before falling to your seeming death. Then, the screams start again. After that hill the ride really isn't bad. We just talked the rest of the ride about how scary that hill was. It was nice to have the adrenaline pumping through me, but it was even better to see my old roommates, enjoy their company, and get out of Provo. Tuesday was reading day, but no reading day is complete without an adventure so naturally we went to Seven Peaks again. Wednesday and Thursday were finals days, but Meghan and I packed and moved our stuff as well. Yesterday came yet another adventure. I went boating with Meghan and some of her friends. I love being on the water. So much fun. Utah Lake is actually rather warm too which makes it all the more enjoyable. Tubing is one of my favorite things to do. Why do I like it? I have no idea. When I think about it, I do not think the sore muscles, burns from the tubes, bumps, bruises, and stiff neck are worth it. But, then I think about how much fun it is. You are flying across the water holding on for dear life. When you fall off, you FLY. Then, you get back on and do it all again.
It was kind of an awakening experience for me. I read this book not too long ago. The main girl was up in the restaraunt in the Space Needle in Seattle. Looking down, she realized that her work in which she devoted her life toward was nothing in the grand scheme of things. I thought it was cheesy while reading it, but being on the lake and realizing how small BYU, which is my world, is nothing. It is so small compared to everything else I could see. I guess I need to work on my priorities. There are other things besides BYU and BYUSA. We were on the water all day.
Heaven, I tell you. After, I went to Janessa's to watch a movie. We watched "The Proposal." It is one of my favorite movies! I love it. I got home around 12:30 and had to clean because one of my roommates left for the weekend without doing her jobs. Fail. Anyways, I did it, and it was fine. Today, I am working on being able to move. It is rough. It hurts to do anything. We had our cleaning checks so I am technically supposed to be gone. I just have to wait until Friday to move into my new apartment that I am so excited about. It means a lot more work of unpacking and making it look like home before I have to leave on Monday, but I can do it. I am going to Seven Peaks once again. I have to get it all out of my system before it gets cold. I do not know what I am going to do when that happens. I am so excited. Tomorrow is our area dinner for BYUSA. I am going to make red velvet cream cheese brownies. So good! I have been looking forward to them all week. Our dinners are always fun, and this one is only with a couple of us. More fun? I don't know, but I cannot wait to find out!

Just Trust Me

One of my aunts talks really fast and is an excellent story teller. She once told a story about a couple of her kids. They had been talking ...
