Beginning the Countdown

Have you ever seen the movie 27 Dresses? This girl is a bridesmaid 27 times, but on the 28th time, she wears a white dress that she got to pick for her special day. Well, I am starting my countdown of 27 dresses. I wore one at Dani's wedding and one at Kaitlyn's. Two down, 25 more to go before my day. I need to go make more friends... Anyways, at Kaitlyn's wedding I once again got to think about what it may be like on my special day. Here are some of my ideas:
Decorations in the church gym:
 The Groom:
The ring:

 The dress:
The flowers:
And if he wants to splurge and get me a puppy with the ring... Well, I wouldn't complain!
Also, he has to want a family because I want a few of these:
And maybe one or two of these:
Dear future husband, I don't know if I have never met you or if you are someone I have known for years. I don't know what you like to do, but I do hope you like to have fun, watch movies, swim, play with dogs, and maybe even kayak on occasions. I hope you have a strong testimony of the Gospel, and I hope we can keep each other strong when times are tough. I even hope when there is a really cute shirt or dress at the store that you don't let me buy it because I would have to alter my "covenants" in order to wear it without them showing. I hope you don't mind that I don't want a big, flashy wedding. An intimate sealing and a small reception at the church gym is really all I want. I hope my dress and ring reflect who you and I are: beautiful, elegant, simple, and timeless. I hope you know that I am not like other girls. I'm not a crazy dancer, and I am not a singer unless you count times in the car when I sing as loud as I can which I know sounds horrible. I am more serious, but I will love you forever. I cannot wait until the day I find you. Whether it is tomorrow or in the years to come, I cannot wait to have eternity with you. I can't wait to have kids just like us that drive us absolutely insane sometimes but are so cute and lovable. I know you will love me, from the sass to the southern charm, because I will love you, all of you. Until that one fine day where I get to meet you... I will keep waiting and smile every time I think of it.

What Happens at Girls' Night Stays at Girls' Night

So, this one time we planned a girls' night. I was excited about it all week. Yesterday I got up early to go to the temple, and then went to work. Work was amazingly fun. I got a lot accomplished. I love the officers so much. To keep me happy about typing in all of the names and emails from people at orientation, they had the volunteers write down jokes or draw pictures. They did have me laughing pretty hard a couple of times. Also, this was drawn on one of the papers...
This week was full of reading which leads to odd sitting positions, drawing in my notes during class, plenty of rain, and some beautiful sunsets.
I think it was Friday when I came home from school that Makenna pulled up a picture and asked if it was me. It was. I made Instagram on BYU Sleeps. I wasn't asleep, but I was lying in the sun playing on my phone. It is flattering and somewhat creepy. Did someone climb a tree to take this picture of me?! It does make me laugh though because this is the day I told my dad I was bored. He said to look for handsome men and smile at them. I had already done that and he said to show some leg. Is being a #potentialbabe good enough? As of today this photo has 312 likes. I am sure there will be more coming...
Friday I also realized that I have a problem. I talk to this boy way too much... October 24th cannot come soon enough!
That bring us to girls' night. When Dani got home we were all in basketball/running shorts and t-shirts so she quickly changed, and we were off to the mall. We went to Bath and Body Works because that is what we do. We go in and smell every single candle, spray, and lotion they have even if we have smelled them before and know they smell awful. It is always fun. Then, for some reason I had the bright idea to go and look at rings... Engagement rings. We ended up not going to one but three stores and trying on rings. We found some we liked and some we didn't, but we were in trances surrounded by all things that sparkle. We walked out of the mall with a spring in our steps, glittering eyes, and smiles that went from ear to ear. We then went to the Creamery just like freshman year and got ice cream. Before going in, we ran into Emilee and Ryan which was a lot of fun. It is odd not seeing them anymore. Still giggling and talking about what we just did, we ate our ice cream and quickly left the store because we were all freezing by the end. Fall is upon us. I even broke out the sweatpants last night. When we got home we ended up watching 13 Going on 30 munching on popcorn and still laughing and admiring the pictures we took of the rings on each of our fingers. By the end of the movie at 10:15 we were all tired and parted for the night. Why was this night so much fun? We are girls... It was a perfect girls' night. Also, I found a ring I really like...

Summer Shenanigans

You can tell I have already gotten caught up in my job by the drastic drop in posts this week compared to last. Oh well. I LOVE MY JOB. I do not understand what is going on half the time, I am trying to figure out everything I need to do before fall semester, and I wonder how I am going to manage without Julianne there to help me, but I know it is going to be great. Honestly, when you can listen to music while working, climb shelves in the storage room finding all kinds of hidden treasures (such as a box of coconut three musketeers bars... Yum), laugh at/with your boss, go to UVU for a meeting with their student alumni association, and you can scream and hide when your boss coming to scare you while you're in the basement you know you have been blessed. I have one of the best jobs on campus. I have the best facial expressions at work, and my boss, Curtis (who happens to be my second favorite teacher's husband), has the best sound effects. Also, I found out that Julie Anne, the girl who is training me, was in my freshmen ward. And... Amanda, the girl that will work with me all year has the exact same birthday as me (she is a freshmen though... weird). Anyways, I am just excited. Monday for FHE we had our "closing social." Stop trying to make summer end! It's not over yet!!! For our closing social we went to the Provo Rec Center, played on indoor water slides, did some rock climbing where you start in the pool and climb out of it, played in the lazy "swift" river, and lounged in the hot tub. I love our ward, even if they try to end my summer early. Tuesday during devotionals I have to clock out of work so I went to the Wilk. I ran into Dani and Tyler. We all crammed on a couch, each doing our own thing. It was a good break. Thursday I got to go to the Wilk again. This time to the BYUSA office. On the way there I surfed on a cart and got stuck in the elevator with Julie Anne. More work adventures. This week included all of that, going to Trafalga with all my friends... both of them. No, I have more than two. Dani, Tyler, Krystal, and I had a blast going on small rides, go-karts, arcade games, and bumper boats. We also finished our Harry Potter marathon. It was an exciting finale. Last night, I got to go with Jan and Kim to Leah's wedding reception. She is so cute, and I just love her. It was wonderful, and she was beautiful. Summer is coming to a close, but it is not over yet. What are we going to be up to now? So many shenanigans.

Singles Awareness Day

"And... we all know you are nobody's valentine."
In the fireside I went to Sunday night, this is one of the things the speaker talked about when she was listing things that made girls depressed. The whole auditorium burst out laughing. I am pretty sure it was in amazement that she actually said that and to stop the tears.
"Let's face it. Kissing yourself in the mirror is better than kissing no one at all."
That was a statement made by one of my teachers. Thank you for reminding me that I am still single. I may not have someone to celebrate the day with, I may be alone in Provo of all places, and I may turn out to be a crazy dog lady. Bring it on.
Dear Future Valentine,
I cannot wait to meet you. When the time finally comes I hope you just act like you are ripping off a band-aid and just ask me out. It will make me smile. A lot. I know you probably have tons of admirers, but I am so glad you chose me. I will love the way you laugh at me. I will love how you will be able to sneak up behind me and just hug me so I cannot be mad at you. I love how your eyes will sparkle when you look at me. I am going to love the way you let me fall asleep on your shoulder, and you won't move even if you have a list of things to do because you don't want to wake me up. I will love how you can connect with my little brother. It will be kind of weird how alike the two of you are. I will smile every time I think of what you will have to go through when you ask my dad for his permission to marry me. I will love how you can easily beat me in any game we play, but you will let me win anyway. I will love it when you curl up in a blanket with me and just watch a movie, even if it is a chick flick. Most of all, I will love the way you make me laugh. I will continue waiting patiently for you to come along. Just move a little faster.
Sincerely,
Love,
Megan

Just Having Some Fun

First off, I would like to say that I went on my first date in which a guy asked me out (my second date overall), and I survived. It wasn't the greatest because it was with a guy I really don't like, but we had fun. We went to an art museum and then went and got Jamba Juice.
Yesterday was the football game v. Hawaii! We won 47-0. Way to go Cougs! Even sections wore white while odd sections wore blue so the stadium looked like it was striped. It was so cool because it actually worked! At the game the guy I kind of have a crush on was like, "Dearest Megan, I love you so much." Here is me, "Oh, I love you too." Cheesy, but it made my night. I left the game a little early because I went out with my cousin Becca. We had so much fun eating at The Chocolate once again. She made me eat most of it since she was allergic to everything we got. As you can see I was SO FULL after it, and she was happily satisfied. After that we went to see "The Avengers." It is a really good movie. I do not understand why we had to stay until the credits were finished to watch them eat tacos, but I did enjoy every minute being with her last night. Yet another night with my wonderful cousin. I may get fat, but storytelling and good laughs are always the best.
Today I got up really late. Eric had called so I called him back. An hour and a half later I was on my way to my coordinator's granddaughter's third birthday party. I had a lot of fun. Everyone there thought Eric and I were married. I got asked where my ring was, how long we had been married, a disapproving look from an older woman when she found out we weren't married, and I got told several times we made a cute couple. My coordinator even said we may as well be married since we spend so much time together. It was weird, but I found it rather humorous. When I got home it was time to get ready for the Relief Society General Broadcast. I got to go watch it at the Conference Center in Salt Lake. It was amazing. Before we went in, little ladies were handing out little packs of tissues. I of course I grabbed one, but those sneaky moms put anti-Mormon stuff in them. I took that out and kept the tissues. All of the speakers were wonderful. I even almost cried in every single talk. My favorite talk was the one done by Sister Carole M. Stephens. She is the first counselor. She talked about a trek she went on recently. At the women's pull someone came back to help her even though she had already made it to the top. When Sister Stephens got to the top she was too tired to go back and help someone else. She felt like she had let her sisters down physically, but she said she never wanted to let them down spiritually. I love her teaching through example, and I hope one day I can be that shining beacon for someone else.

Plans Change

Sometimes your dreams and plans change. You can't help it. I have been thinking about this for a while, and now I am making it official. I have changed the colors I want at my wedding. I want navy and yellow. It is classy and still fun. You see the little ball flowers? I love those! Bridesmaid bouqets: my favorite. The blue willow plates: also my favorite. I love it.
I also want a sparkler exit. No bubbles. No rice. Sparklers.
I can keep dreaming.

My Wedding Dreams

I do not know what happened to my last wedding dream post, but it made me sad when I looked and realized it was gone. So, I am posting it again. I hope you don't mind.
1. My dress option #1. I really like the sleek look with it ruched at the side.
2. I want the Belle hairstyle for my fairytale ending which is really only the beginning.
3. I want a generations ring picture.
4. His ring. Simple and elegant.
5. I want the guys to wear grey suits, and the idea of little black dresses for the bridesmaids is growing on me. They really could wear it again. Who doesn't need a little black dress?
6. I love the lace and letter idea for the cake.
7. My ring. I want it in platinum. Everything else scratches too easily, and we all know I am accident prone.
8. I want to write notes on the bottom of my bridesmaids' shoes. A personal note to each one of my special girls.
9. The bridesmaids' bouquets.
10. I love the cake that is not what everyone is expecting. It is more fun that way.
11. I want a picture of my husband picking me up. I think those are the cutest!
12. I want a cool engagement story. (hopefully I won't be making a weird face like this girl)
13. I want a fun picture with the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
14. My bouquet... I think. I just love flowers in general.
15. I also love the idea of a lace wedding dress. Lace or sleek? I guess I will have to wait and find out what kind of guy I am going to marry because that will determine it all.
16. I want a water fountain under my cake. Keeping it classy.
17. I want the wedding date stitched in to the hem of my dress in blue for "something blue."
18. For the last picture of the night...

Just Trust Me

One of my aunts talks really fast and is an excellent story teller. She once told a story about a couple of her kids. They had been talking ...
